Zydeco Flames

The Zydeco Flames have earned their reputation as the West Coast’s premier Zydeco band, igniting dance floors from contemporary clubs to major festivals and traditional dancehalls. Known for their sizzling, roots-driven rhythms and relentless execution, the Flames deliver a stunningly powerful groove that keeps audiences moving all night long. Their sixth release, Fire It Up (2006), showcases red-hot Zydeco in the tradition of masters like Clifton Chenier, Buckwheat Zydeco, and Queen Ida.

With a discography spanning Hot Offerings (1993) through Bank the Fire (2003) and the live favorite Smokin’ at the Plant, the band’s music has also reached national audiences through radio, television, and even the video game The Sims: Unleashed. Awarded Best Zydeco Band by the West Coast Blues Society and Best Original Song by the West Coast Cajun & Zydeco Association, the Flames have lit up stages from the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee to the San Francisco Jazz Festival—proving year after year that when the Flames play, the party burns bright.
