Marty Eggers

Marty Eggers’ music career began in Sacramento, California, where as a teenager he helped found the Sacramento Ragtime Society in 1982.  Marty plays piano, string bass and tuba.  He lives in Oakland with his wife, pianist and drummer Virginia Tichenor.  They perform regularly and irregularly around the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, including monthly at the American Legion in Larkspur.  Lately, Marty has been active locally with Bob Schulz’s Barbary Coast Jazz Band, Gaucho and the Silver Bell Jazz Band.

Marty has appeared many times at Jazz Bash By the Bay Monterey, in recent years with the Carl Sonny Leyland Trio, the now-retired Royal Society Jazz Orchestra, the also-retired Crown Syncopators and the (not retired) Graystone Monarchs.
