Riley Baker
Riley Baker was raised in a musical household with his mother in jazz radio and father a musician. He picked up the drums when he was about 6 years old and by 12 was playing professionally with his father’s jazz band. While Riley was in middle school, he picked up the Tuba and by High school was already a proficient classical soloist. Also in high school, Riley picked up the Trombone and Upright Bass. Riley then moved to Los Angeles, California to study Jazz Trombone at California State Northridge. While at University, Riley developed an interest in arranging and composition and was commissioned to do transcriptions for Nick Rossi’s Jazzopaters band as well as music directing for other bands. Riley spends most of his time preforming with acts that include Jonathan Stout and his Orchestra, The Four Freshmen, The Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, Dave Stuckey and his Hot House Gang, Natalie Mendoza and her Tiger Five, Michael Gamble and his Rythmn Serenaders and many more. Riley currently resides in Los Angeles where he freelances on Upright Bass, Tuba, Drums and Trombone.
